Frequently asked questions
What exactly do you check?
The same SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and blacklist checks as the free instant checker — run automatically once a day, so you don't have to remember to.
How is this different from the free checker?
The free checker gives you a one-time snapshot. Monitoring re-checks daily and only emails you when a status actually changes, so you find out the moment something breaks instead of stumbling on it later.
When will I actually get an email?
Once when monitoring starts, so you know where things stand — then only when a check's severity changes (pass to warning, warning to critical, or back to pass). A stable, healthy domain won't email you every day.
Do you need access to my domain or DNS provider?
No. Everything is checked from public DNS records. We never ask for login access to your registrar or DNS host.
What if my DKIM selector isn't the standard one?
DKIM has no way to auto-discover its selector, so we check common ones (selector1, selector2, google, default, and a few others). If your provider uses something custom, reply to any of our emails with the selector and we'll add it to your monitoring.
What's the DMARC report translation, and how do I turn it on?
Mailbox providers like Google and Microsoft already send you raw, unreadable XML reports about who's sending mail using your domain — most people never look at them. Point your DMARC record's rua= tag at reports@in.sendclear.io and we'll translate each one into plain English automatically: what's genuinely you, what's a legitimate forward, and what actually needs a look — included free with monitoring, and completely optional.
How to actually add it, in general: log into whoever hosts your domain's DNS (not necessarily the same company your email runs through), find its DNS or TXT records section, and edit the record at _dmarc.yourdomain.com — append rua=mailto:reports@in.sendclear.io to the existing value rather than replacing the whole record, since you may already have SPF/DKIM/DMARC set up correctly.
A few common hosts, if you're not sure where to look:
Cloudflare: DNS → Records → edit the TXT record for _dmarc.
GoDaddy: My Products → DNS → Records → find the TXT entry named _dmarc.
Namecheap: Domain List → Manage → Advanced DNS → look for the TXT record type.
Google Domains / Squarespace Domains: DNS settings → Custom records.
Zoho: Zoho Mail Admin → Domains → DNS Management.
Changes usually take effect within a few hours.
How much does it cost, and how do I cancel?
First 14 days are free with full access, no card required to start. If you want to keep it running past day 14, add a card anytime during the trial from the manage subscription page — $19/month per domain, no contract. If you don't add one, the trial simply ends on its own and you're never charged.
Managing multiple client domains as an agency?
Per-domain pricing may not be the right shape for a full roster — get in touch and we'll figure out something that fits how you'd actually use it.
