Adding a TXT Record in GoDaddy
This is about where to paste a record — for what the record should actually say, see the guide for your mail provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365) or generate a DMARC record.
- Log into GoDaddy and go to My Products.
- Find the domain, click the DNS button next to it (sometimes under a ⋯ menu).
- In DNS Management, click Add (or Add New Record).
- Set Type to
TXT. - Set Host to whichever name the record belongs at —
@for the root domain (SPF),_dmarcfor DMARC, orselector._domainkeyfor DKIM (the exact selector comes from whoever sends your mail). - Paste the record's value into TXT Value.
- Leave TTL on its default — no need to change it.
- Click Save.
GoDaddy's own propagation can be slower than some hosts — allow up to a few hours before assuming something's wrong.
Once it's live, check it free to confirm it's reading correctly.
